Description

Premium wild-crafted sinicuichi leaf is imported directly from the harvesters in Mexico.

Heimia Salicifolia was given over 50 different folk names by indigenous tribes throughout Mexico and South America. It is claimed they used sinicuichi to treat high fevers, parasitic worms, stomach problems and constipation. They also used it to cover open wounds to prevent bleeding and promote healing. The leaves, when prepared as tea, were said to promote relaxation, calm, and clarity of thought. More scientific study and research is needed to verify any claims regarding the effects of Heimia Salicifolia.

Identification

Heimia Salicifolia is a perennial shrub with small, narrow leaves and yellow flowers that grows up to 5 feet tall.

Habitat

Heimia grows throughout central and northern Mexico, up to parts of the southern US. Preferring the banks of ditches and streams in sunny and tropical climates.

Uses

Sinicuichi Tea

Sinicuichi leaf makes a good-flavored tea. In Mexico and South America, it is used as a tea and in herbal tea blends.

Try starting out with 1 gram of leaf per 16 oz of water. Boil the material in the water for at least 5 minutes, then allow it to cool and strain out the herbs. If you would like a stronger or weaker tea, you can increase or decrease the amount of leaf used and the amount of time it is boiled in small increments.

Smoking Sinicuichi

Sinicuichi leaf is a rather harsh smoke. If one were to smoke it, they would want to smoke it slowly or possibly blend it with milder-flavored herbs or flowers.

Smudge

Sinicuichi leaf can be used as a relaxing smudge and added to smudging blends.

Herbal Supplement

Heimia Salicifolia is used as an herbal supplement (most often as a tea) and by natural health practitioners.
